mite infestation How to use Prolap insectrin

I think there may be a mite problem in the coop. Altho i havent seen any on the girls , when is retrieved the eggs yesterday My arm was imediayly covered with little tiny bugs! I have to assume these are mites of some sort, although the DH insists that its summer and they are just bugs! The only place in town only carried Prolap Insectrin dust .25% Permethrin. Its says extremly hazardous and for poultry apply 1lb per 100 birds. Well I have 8 full size and 9 5 week and i dont think the babies that are 2 weeks have them unless i trasfered them. So How do i know how much to use? Its a 2 lb container. And are the eggs safe to use during the treatment process?

I'd say it's lice/mites. Just dust them with it -- and the coop, and change the litter, and dust again in 10 days. Should work fine.
