Welp, 4 years later and we finally got a mite infestation. Lost one chicken already before we noticed it. Found thousands on the vent area of one the other day, she’s now looking pretty lethargic.

I ordered elector psp and a sprayer, it should arrive tomorrow. I plan to remove the bedding, spray entire inside of coop and each bird. We have an attached run where they spend most of their time with dirt/mulch.

Anyone who has gone through this before what’s the best methods to get this done effectively and what concentration do you use for the spray? I got a 1 gallon sprayer.

What I do when treating my flock with elector psp is make up 2 gallons worth in a Sterilite container -one that is chicken sized. I dip each bird in the mix, making sure to splash it around the vent and under the wings. I then pour the mix through a small strainer into my sprayer so I can spray the coop after cleaning out the bedding. Since I am usually treating them by myself, I found dipping to be easier than trying to hold the chicken and the sprayer at the same time.
Edit: I think the concentration for mites is listed on the label
