Mite question

I cleaned out the entire coop today. I use shavings. My chickens have had signs of possible mites, but I have not seen any on them. I spent two hours with the chickens, dusting them, raking out their run, removing the shavings in the coop, putting new shavings and DE on the floor. I checked my arms and legs often. Not once did I see or feel any kind of bug, does that mean if my chickens do have mites, it is under control? Thanks in advance.
