Mites and Attacks

So my NH Red got messed up by her rooster. I took her out of the coop to keep her isolated until she could heal up. When I was looking at her wounds, I noticed she had mites. I have used Y-TEX Garden & Poultry Dust Insecticide to clear up mites on my flock before this one but Ive never had to use it while there are open wounds. Any suggestions? The wounds are not bleeding but they are still open. Is it safe to use the powder to treat the mites while she is wounded? I know I need to get the mites treated but am trying to determine which takes priority.

I would cover the open wounds with neosporin or Vaseline first then dust her. Should be fine.

I agree. Or Silvadene. Some wound dressing, and kill those mites! Also, treat your flock, and their coop. Permethrin spray concentrate is by far the easiest product to use. Mary
