I was on my front porch(30' away from chicken housing) and my chickens DO have access to this porch in evenings, but realized I had,I believe, mites crawling all over my hands. I had just given the parakeet fresh stuff and thought it was her issue but realized today the "mites" are all over inanimate objects on porch(actually a solar thing).there are, of course,wild birds EVERYWHERE. they look like the mites that were on my chickens(currently controlled) but my eyesight cannot decifer something that tiny as a face mite, northern mite, or the others. my POINT- how can you identify the critter for what it is so I can treat appropriately. can you take samples somewhere for them to be identified? I live in central ohio.
