Mites? Black stuff on comb. Also he has some kind of growth on his face...

Any idea what is going on here? The growth is hard and does not seem to cause any discomfort when pushed on. This rooster fought off a bobcat and got beat up in the process. This growth showed up a few days after. It does not seem to be getting bigger or smaller. The black stuff might be asphalt as we just had our driveway repaved.

It could be asphalt, dry fowl pox, pecking injuries.... Honestly it looks like asphalt tome, but I could certainly be wrong.

Maybe he has an infection from the bobcat injury. I have given Baytril for an injury. The Baytril is cherry flavored. I got it from the vet. 2c's twice a day
This has cherry flavoring. So the 2cc's includes the flavoring.
