Hi, I'm fixing to go out to the coop and spray my chickens with permithrin 10. After going into the coop and handling the chickens, is there a way to make sure I'm not covered with them and bring them into my house?

I agree. I also put poultry dust in the nest boxes.
For permethrin 10. I use the 0.50% mix.

I was getting all kinds of different ratios. I went on their website and it had said for poultry, use 1 part concentrate for 200 parts water. Then I'd seen somewhere online - use 1 1/2 ounces for 2 gallons. So I went with that. I did think I should have gone stronger. I guess there's always next time.

I ended up dipping the 3 birds. We'd hosed off their rear ends that were a bit messy. They didn't like that, the water was from an outside hose, so it was cold. Upon inspection, they were red and missing feathers, so I'm certain that they had mites, though I didn't see one. Poor girls. They liked being dipped into the bucket of warm water and Permethrin 10.

Well, it didn't seem as bad as I thought. I was sure I was going to see millions of those little red beasts crawling out when I started spraying. I didn't see one.

Thanks for the help.
