Mites? Lice? Help

Can red mites come from straw?? We just got some bales from a new supplier on tend days ago. Now we have red mites! I'm freaking out because I'm new to chickens and am fastidious about cleaning despite the small size of our flock.

And I'm asking about the straw because in addition to bleaching, blasting, pyrethremin, etc I want to make sure I burn the straw if that could be the source.

Personally, after cleaning everything out in the coop, I would spray inside the coop with permethrin spray everywhere very well and dust the birds. It worked for me.

If you go the powder route don't forget to pick up dust masks as well.

u right! that powders get all over place mke up ur nose! i put on my blackie chicken an blond chiken they squaks but they dont have no bugs
