Hi all, chicken is a 2 year old rhode island red. We noticed today that she was missing some feathers and that she has scratch marks and irritated skin on her breast/ underside area. She is near the top of the pecking order and has been living with the other chickens for about 6 months now with no issues on her end. They have a sand bath that she frequents and I normally spray their coop after cleaning with a chicken specific insecticide (I recently ran out and haven't been able to get more yet). None of the other chickens have the same issue she is having. I just want to get other opinions to see if mites or lice was the general consensus and that I'm not missing any other issue here as I don't have any experience with lice/ mites! Pictures of the chicken's problem areas are attached.

Your chicken may not have a problem at all. Generally broody hens seem to molt feathers on their underside to incubate eggs. This way they transfer warmth to eggs easier.
Lets see what others think???
Mites,, Lice,, you can usually see them lil devlz crawling around :frow

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome

Might be early molting. Lift up the feathers on her body, back, and vent and look for egg sacks on the bottom of freathers. Otherwise probably molting-you have a great prevention routine!
But we always find mites near the vent area.
