mites on brooding hen

Ok thank you i was wondering if there was a technique to it. How do i treat the wooden walls? just use the powder?

You can dust the top of the roost bars and put some in your hand and run it under the bars. As for walls, I wouldn't worry much about them as mites will stay as close to the birds as possible. But you can sprinkle some along the floor/wall base and just above the floor if you think they are hiding in any cracks. Mites don't go too far from the chicken and want a fast meal at night. So they are close to where ever chickens roost or are sitting for long periods like in the nest boxes.

Most feed/farm stores will also carry a liquid permethrin premise spray, you just mix it in water and you can use those small 1 or 2 gal plastic sprayers like TSC carries

thank you everyone...i know what i will be doing this weekend :)

Welcome to BYC. I would be reluctant to liquefy and spray the Sevin under these circumstances. Replace all bedding in the nest, dust the hen, coop area, and nest.. You should also treat all other birds in your flock. Good luck at resolving this. Extreme mite infestations frequently cause broody hens to break their broodiness.
