Mites, scabs, molting?

Good morning, I'm new raising chickens and Ive got 1 of my 9 week old chicks has what appears to be scabs in her lower back. Thoughts on what this could be?

It really looks like other birds in the flock have been pecking at it for quite a while. How much space do they have?

Yeah, I thought about that too. They've got a 15 x 15 pin right now while they're young. I've never seen any of them pick on each other, but I do suspect a few of my hens could be roosters so perhaps it's happening in the coop at night.
