MITES! They're biting me!

My daughter had bites from mites off of her cats! I thought she had gotten body lice, seemed to make similar bites. After research- we figured out her cats had feline mites and they were biting her at night. Treated everything in house with permethrin, got the cats treated by the vet and all was well

Boy, I can't believe all these stories! It's the stuff of nightmares! Luckily we don't have any cats. I worked as a vet tech for 12 years, and we just saw ear mites (that stay in the ear), not any on the body. So it can't be that common. Talk about bad luck.

Yeah, with bad cases of ear mites in cats, you'll see the built up feces from the mites...nasty. I've never seen mites on their body neither, fleas yes.

I've been being bitten at night, and can feel bugs crawling on me. Never had a problem until we got chickens. I've checked them for mites and can find nothing, although there is a dark colored Silkie, frizzles, and bantam cochins, so they have a LOT of feathers. I'm about to lose my mind! I have bumps on me (at least a dozen) that itch like crazy. I see no evidence of bed bugs, and wonder if it is, in fact, mites. Anyone have any experience with this?

What did this end up being? I gotten bitten up after handling hens and the coop and am wondering if I’m in for a long journey of trying to figure it out gah.
