Mites

After holding one of my ducks , Que Sera I felt like I had tiny bugs crawling all over me. I didn't see anything but my eye sight is not that good. Are the mites visable should I have been able to see them? What is the best treatment for them.

We seem to avoid mites with having the swim pans and I also put diatomaceous earth around the edges of the night shelter - where the wall meets the floor, and under the watering station, anywhere I think they might hide.

There are also some products others have used...

Do you have a magnifying glass? My Swiss army knife has one.

Some are so small that I have a hard time seeing them even with extra strong reading glasses. Has this duck been sitting on a nest?

thanks for the advice I probably couldn't see them then. She has not been sitting on a nest. I'm going to get some DE and dust her with 7 dust.
