Mites??

I recently purchased some 2 and 3 week old chicks and saw a tiny bug in the light colored feathers of one walking around. How do i know if this is a mite or lice? The place i got them from was extremely clean and she takes great pride in her farm. The thought makes me itch!! I'm keeping them inside in a brooder right now handling them as much as possible until they ate old enough to go outside with my older pullets. Is there any way to tell or to naturally treat??

Do a google search for chicken lice and mites. It will give you lots of pics so you can id what you saw if it is a creepy crawlie.

Ditto on the googling for images of lice and mites.

'Natural' treatment.....not really.... permethrin worked good for me with lice and no withdrawal on eggs and meat.
