Also could be from resting/rubbing on a roost. Heavier birds will do that sometimes. Also check her feet and legs for any injuries or bumblefoot. I've had birds with bumblefoot rest on the roosts and this happens as they don't put weight on the sore foot.

I have one like that right now. Barred rock too. I’ve been watching for the last while and the only thing I see picking her is herself. Not sure why. It’s only that one spot on the back. Same as yours. I starting applying a no pick today. Will see how that works. She’s even picking her skin off. I have checked for mites and don’t see any. I dust her regularly too. Curious to see if there is anyone else with the same issue.

2 out of my 4 barred rocks are like this, I dust/ clean regularly I can’t imagine what else to do, they are a year and 3 months- good birds

While wearing a light colored glove or having a light colored cloth in hand, gently ruffle the feathers under and around her tail and vent area and under her wings. There should be dirt on your gloves or cloth. Is the dirt moving?
