Okay so I have two black marans. I have had them since they were little chicks. What I thought was two hens is a rooster and a hen. I love them! Yesterday I got a pot bellied piglet. It is 5 weeks old. So cute. I brought him inside today to bathe him. He had been in a crate for a few days before I got him and had gotten dirty. So I bathed him and was drying him off and noticed BUGS!!!! I called the vet and he is going in the morning for a shot of ivermectin and/or amitraz. I cant remember exactly what they said he was getting and what I have googled. So my questions are.... what are the odds of my home being contaminated? I have him with my chickens until my fence is built ( tomorrow and Saturday it should be finished) Can my chickens catch them and if so, how is that treated? I have cats and dogs also, will they catch them? Do all my animals need treated? I threw away the towels I used to dry him off and bleached my bathtub. I am going to attach a picture I found online of what the bugs are and pic o

Are you thinking it is lice? Lice can't be transmitted from pig to chicken or to dogs or cats or to humans or vice versa. If it isn't lice but mange, I may be a little more concerned. Please let us know how the vet visit goes.

they look like this picture and google says that it is lice/mites. i have seen lice on kids and these are much bigger bugs! I can treat him if i know how and its safe to be done in my house. he is a runner and i almost did not catch him yesterday when he got here and got loose immediately. i will definitely update after the vet in the morning . thank you for responding.
