Mites?

I regularly snuggle my chickens and as I snuggled Dottie today I started feeling very itchy so I checked her for mites. She was clear but I may have found something on her flock mate, Penny. She had some tiny round things on the rim of her cloaca. I used a q-tip to remove them and they were the color of egg yolk and smeared as I removed it. Do you think these are mite eggs or do chickens get a build up of a little goo around the cloaca sometimes? I’ve never had mites before so I’m not sure what I’m looking at. Thank you in advance.

Good advice, thank you. It’s proving difficult to get a photo. It just looks blurry. Plus I wiped it all away with the q-tip. I’ll check her again when I have an extra set of hands to hold a camera.
