Mites?

I noticed yesterday under one of my chickens wings what looked like a lot of dirt. I picked her up this morning to try and get a look at her. I'm not sure if it's mites or something else?

Looks like dirt from dust bathing. Are the specks moving?

I agree with @sourland, are they moving/do they have tiny legs?

No movement or legs from what I can tell. It seems fairly new, just noticed it yesterday. We have plenty of places in the yard for dirt baths.

Then I bet it’s just dirt/debris from dust bathing. I would check back in the next few days, just to make sure it isn’t, do want to catch it as soon as possible.

No problem. I think your good for right now, I would say lice, but you only treat them when you find them. Good luck!
