Not typically, no. Clean out your coop completely,, burn or bury the litter, treat your coop with permethrine based powder or spray and get all new bedding and litter. Treat the birds
 
Yes, humans can get mites from chickens, but only temporarily. Chicken mites, such as red mites or northern fowl mites, are parasites that prefer birds and cannot live or reproduce on people. However, if you handle infested birds or bedding, the mites can crawl onto your skin and bite, leaving behind itchy red spots or rashes. These bites are irritating but short-lived since humans are not suitable hosts, and the mites will eventually die off.
