diatomaceous earth kills other mites, I don't know if it would work on leg mites.

DE can help with some external mites, especially in dry conditions, but scaly leg mites are a bit different. They actually live under the leg scales, so powders like DE usually can’t reach where they are. That’s why it tends to be less effective for this type compared to surface-dwelling mites.

With scaly leg mites, treatments that can stay in contact long enough to work underneath the scales usually make more of a difference.
