mites

what do mites look like? I have a wooden picnic table and it has alot of tiny red bugs on it. I mashed a couple and the seem to have alot of blood in them for there size Also what do mites do to chickens?

If you do a search for mites, you might find more. I remember reading something saying that mites on fowl aren't the same as mites you'd see in a woodpile, that they are bird-specific, maybe you can find that information?
