I hope this is the right place to put this. I checked all my chicks on Sunday and I didn't see anything. Now I just checked a couple of our chicks and found what I think are mites around the vent. Ugh! They haven't even gone outside yet. What can I do?

Dust them lightly with some Poultry Dust or spray them with some Poultry Protector.
You can get them at Rural King or Tractor Supply.
You can also use Sevin dust VERY sparingly.
Put some dust in an old knee high and poof it on them lightly concentrating on the behind and under the wings, but avoiding the face.

You can dust at any age. Many folks make sure broody nests have sevin or permethrin dust in them as mites and lice can be really hard on a setting hen or chicks.
