yeah...that’s what I was thinking when I was looking at them today. i was really hoping dot was too but it’s obvious that’s not the case now

I could only get a good picture of Dot, but this is more of an update than anything, really. They’re almost 15 weeks old now. No crowing yet, though.

Dot is 17 weeks old now. No crowing yet, but I’m sure he’s not too far from it.

Pepper is 16 weeks and 3 days old. No crowing yet either

Finally, Turkey is 16 weeks old. She squatted and was mounted by one of the roosters ( should I be worried about that? ) yesterday and I found an extra white egg even though I only have 4 white egg layers. So, not sure what’s going on there. I figured she would lay brown eggs

Oh yeah, definitely. They both have their saddle feathers now and Dot was practicing his crow today lol

Ok thanks! I have 7 mixed breed chicks that are all almost 4 weeks and so far like 4 of them have pretty pronounced combs kinda like yours did at that age so I was curious how yours turned out. I’m thinking I’m only going to end up with a couple pullets out of the 7

Yeah, that’s what usually happens. I hatched out another batch and they were pretty much split half & half. Out of 13, 7 were girls & 6 were boys. It’s really hard to be for sure especially with mix breeds. Though, leghorn crosses are probably the easiest mutt to sex out of my chicks. The boys get huge combs pretty quickly
