Help!! My Peking/Rouen mix ducklings keep dying, before they do their legs seem to keep going lame, I'm not sure if maybe the genetics in one of my five duck is an issue because they are all normal, one duckling (a month old) died from what I described, about a month ago another one died at only two weeks old, also I was feeding him chop as a " for right now thing" but got him his starter a few days after I noticed him acting strange and it perked him up a bit with niacin too, does anyone know why it's only happening to my mix breed ducks?????

In the spring I had Pekings die like that.
It was determined the environment was too stressful and not enough starter food.
Change of environment and a lot more food and the survivors did beautifully.
.

Thank you to all for the sympath and condolences on the losses, what a loving group of people, god bless you all, and I hate to think I did it to him though, I got him his starter a few days after I noticed he was limping, did I accidentally kill my own duckling :(

Thank you, I apologize for my unenthused state as I'm going through a grieving process, but it's so awesome all the warming welcomes y'all give, I'm happy to have finally joined and be with y'all as well.God Bless

All I know about ducks, is they can have lameness, etc due to niacin deficiencies. Apparently it is common. If you post on the duck thread they can probably tell you how much they would need added to their feed. Some use brewers yeast. Don't give up the ship. If this is the problem it can be remedied.
