Mixed ages

I have a friend who wants to give me a chicken that is laying age. I have 4 chicks that are 1.5 months and 2 that are 2.5 months. They are on chick starter. What can I feed the adult or how do I keep them from eating each others.

The hen or older pullet can eat chick starter. You can even keep them on starter or grower for the rest of their lives and just provide free choice oyster shell and grit.

The laying hen should probably have a calcium supplement (oyster shells, for instance) if you go that route.

Oh good! Should I give oyster shells to supplement the lack of calcium. I want sure, I guess I didn't realize chick started was ok
