These are delaware x bantam cochins. They are in between in size, the girl is a great layer. I hatched 7 of them, the rest were all colombian like the roo, or delaware marked like the pullet I kept. She started out with blue delaware markings, but they've darkened to black pretty much.

Hi guys! I'm wondering what color the cochin was.... The Delaware was the rooster, right?

Great thread! Can someone figure out the combination from a picture? I bought a mystery pack and the breeder was trying to get a larger meat bird. He included some heritage birds, but many I haven't been able to ID. I suppose those are the crossbreeds. I could sure use some place to start. These are all roosters and all are nine months old.

Great pictures. We have a few interesting mixed breeds....Arizona, is half silkie and half partridge bantam. She is very cute and has beautiful turquoise "earrings". A great broody sitter.

Father was a Barred Rock, Mother a Buff Orp.
His comb is a bit messed up from a fight w/another roo.

I can't wait to see what we get out of our Buff roo and our Barred Rock, and Rhode Island hens. We also have a Silkie roo but the Buff roo wont let him breed lol

He's awesome! You can see both breeds in him very easily. Awesome bird!
