Yes a Dark Brahma was the hen for sure. I don't have a picture of the rooster himself but he looked identical to this one:

There are a few other breeds that look identical to Buff Orpingtons, if you don't know what to look for. They aren't the only breed that come in that light gold coloration.

She's got some neat pencil marks on her back and is rather big - bigger than an adult australorp at only 4 months of age.

Hi, thanks for posting your barred rock x orpingtons. I'm hoping to do the same this spring. How did the hen crosses do laying wise? Were the crosses Orpington roo x barred hen? Thx
