Mixed Chicks AKA Who's your Momma???

Ok, lets show off our mixed birds....

Standard size bird- Daddy is a Blue Cochin

This Roo is Thundar

Standard size bird- Momma is a White Crested Black Polish

This Hen is Oreo, I have two hens.

Egg was a polish egg, white in color and kinda oblong in shape, medium in size.

Here is the chick. Not sure of the sex as of yet.

This chick has not been named.

That chick in the last photo sure is a pretty cockrel. I love the coloring.

Name it Elmar.Momma can not be the shown hen becouse she dos not have beard and the boy has it.

I think it deff has some polish in it.

Well- we know it has Polish - you showed us the mom right? The chick appears to be splash- which is one outcome of a blue and black crossing. If you breed the chick back to a black or white- (I'm almost certain) all of the chicks will be blue. Nice cross! Very pretty.

Hello all.

Momma was one of my two polish. Both hens look the same, no beards. There are only two breeds in this coupe so there are no other hens who would lay the white egg as my Cochin lay a tan/brown egg and it is larger and rounder.

Do not know why the chick has a beard, but it does. So it is a Cockrel, I kinda thought so. Well, I won't be keeping him. Anyone in my area want him before he end up on someone's dinner table? I am in Lucerne Valley, Ca. PM me.
