Gertrude hatched this clutch of mixed eggs from my hens July 20th. It was the first time she had gone broody and I saved my eggs to give to her instead of buying eggs from a breeder cause I didn't know what kind of mother she would be. Plus I have a little Black Hen that I really wanted:fl a pullet out of cause she will lay almost every day and she NEVER has gone broody. Black Hen is a bantam, but I have no idea what breed she is. Her comb is almost black. She is my roos favorite. Nobody messes with her and she gets first dibs on all the goodies.
In this clutch I know the one is a cockeral. I believe that the splash is a pullet and the pencilled looking one (that was Gertrudes egg) is a pullet, but that little black ones comb is so small and black like it's mama I am having trouble deciding. I saw it and the little cockeral bow up and each other like have a little go, but it just a minute the other two were right in there with it, so it may have just been a sibling pecking order thing.
Whatcha think?
This is the whole group

Sorry, that's all I can tell you. Maybe Black Hen has a touch of Sumatra? I'm not good at that.

Thank you for your input. Both of you.
And yeah, I think Chanticleer is a really good looking roo. Whatever he is. He is a good roo also.
He takes good care of his hens and has perfect manners with people. I have never had to correct him for his behavior.
Second roo in charge is his son who looks just like him but with a single comb.
