I've tried Google and the search filter and I'm just not finding what I'm looking for. We just moved early April, and are currently poultry free. In the past I had a pretty large flock with chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks. Our new place does not have a coop, but it's the first project I'm doing in the new year. I'm trying to get a rough plan in mind, but I'm unsure of how much square footage I need both in the coop and in the run. They will be free range, but I also want a run in case I need it.

Opinions? Resources? Thank you!

A coop for chickens? The general rule is you should have 4+ square feet in the coop per bird (not counting nesting boxes) and 8+ square feet in the run. Personally I'd make it bigger than you need to account for chicken math.

It'll be for chickens, ducks, geese and turkey. I know the 4+ for the chickens, but wasn't sure how I should adjust it for the other birds! And no matter what I know I'll have to account for chicken math 😂

I have no idea about geese or turkey, but I imagine you'll want to have like 7+ square feet in the coop per duck, a bit larger per geese, and larger for turkey. As much run space as you can possibly do.

I'd also imagine that larger duck breeds need more space. Do ducks, geese, and turkeys roost? Will the male turkeys try to mate with female chickens? How does that work?
