My Delaware, Rose, has been having issues laying an egg ever since she was egg bound several months ago. I give her plenty of calcium but she still struggles greatly to lay the egg, which is nearly always soft shelled. Is there any way to make the egg laying process easier for her?

What type of calcium are you giving her?

What is this spot on my goose’s knob? None of the other geese have it…

I've noticed my female goose has been having this extended pouch hanging from her stomach. It's not always there - most often only in the late afternoon. She generally lays an egg around that time. I have seen it several times so far in the last two weeks. What is it and why does she have it? Thanks!

I think it has something to do with egg laying, which would be normal. I remember reading something on ducks that they can get that before laying an egg. That's all I know.

Thanks, I just now saw your post. She seems alright, it just started happening and that's what had me wondering.
