So I have three 4-6 week old chicks still living in a large brooder box set up. Today I got a 4 month old (hatched march 3) silkie hen. She seems very sweet and super lazy and relaxed. My question is can I put the chicks in with her for a few hours a day so she doesn't get lonely all alone in the coop or will she hurt them

we have 4 " 10 week old rhode island reds and 2 "10 week old black sex links " they have their own pecking order in one side of the chicken coop and in the other side we have 2 white leghorn girls that are 24 weeks old and laying every day.(we were told to buy 2 " of them that way they have a friend and also develop a pecking order.

they are seperated through fencing and also thier own sides of the barn so they each have their own sections to look at each other every day and get used to seeing each other and hearing each others tones and stuff. though we put them inside each others coop for about 10 minutues a night now to try to socialize them together and they we return them to their own coops before bedtime".

a few weeks more and well put them together in the same coop as they will know each other well by then. :)

Thanks I think I'm gonna section the coop into two areas so they can meet through the fence for a few days :)
