mixing already grown hens?

We do not have many tress here in Mountain home! But yes I have a wonderful garden in the summer. My family still lives in WA so I go home often. Well we will be getting the new hens on Monday. I am a sucker for amimals, and when they need a home my door is open. So I hope my ladies now do not get to mad when the arrive. They have a whole acre all fenced in to wander so they should all be well in time.

After the quarantine period it is best to introduce the new hens with seperation. Just poultry wire between them to keep them seperate and a chance to get use to each other. The pecking order is real and all heck will break lose if you just place them together, in the same coop.
The present flock didn't invite them to stay and will take action. Slower introduction works best. Welcome to BYC!
