Coming from New England we always had Rhode Island Reds or Plymouth Rock and they seemed to get along. Many years later And I just started by garden flock with two Buff Orpingtons. They are supper docile and very sweet. Nothing like my RIRs. I would like to add a little color to my tiny flock probably add two more. Does anyone have a suggestion as to compatible breeds. I think the Wyandotte is beautiful.

Easter Eggers, they've got tons of variety.

What kind of egg production are you looking for? Are you still in New England or is your climate different?
