I started building a coop and run 16x25' for my 20 unsexed chickens and just as they moved in, a friend gave me 7 ducks [I couldn't say no] and wondering what considerations I should have. coop is raised 2 ft off the ground and was going to house chickens above and ducks down on straw covered ground.
1] is it big enough?.......... please say it will work

How big is the coop and how big is the run?
Pics would help here.

Duck are wet mess makers, could be a problem for the chickens and why many keep them in separate enclosures
They don't need to swim daily but definitely need water deep enough to rinse their nares(nostrils).

Could work to have ducks sleep under coop,
can you get under there?
Would be good to be able to clean under there.

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!
