Do chicks need to be separated based on age? I have 9 two week old chicks and 7 day old chicks. Can they share the same brooder or will something bad hapoen?

Got a little mixed up hodge podge. We will see how it goes. So far they are playing nice
You have a nice big brooder space, and the size difference is not that great, so they should be ok, as long as the littles are warm enough. Adjust the heat lamp for their comfort. As EH says, and I agree, the biggest risk is if they pig pile and the smaller ones get trampled/smothered. I like to give my newly hatched chicks a couple of days to get strong on their feet. I've mixed chicks with 3 week difference w/o problems before. Just gave the littles a few days to get settled before putting them all together. IMO having plenty of brooder space is key.
However, I see you have an open water dish. Chicks are born looking for novel ways to commit suicide. An open dish of water is an invitation.
