So I have 4 silkie mix chicks that are 4 weeks old and I have 7 average size mixed breeds that are 8 weeks old that I want to put in same pen. Out of the 7 there are 3 cockerels for sure and I know 1 silkie is for sure. Do you think this will work or not?

I have resently had a similar experience. I put 2 4 week old silkies with 15 6-8 week old standard chicks. They all got along great. Now the silkies are 7 or 8 weeks and are still getting along with the others. Also, 3 of my standard ones are males.

Bummer! Ddefining the pecking order can seem brutal to us at times. What does their run look like? Often some clutter to provide hiding spots for the lower totem birds can work wonders. As long as they are not drawing blood, AND you provide plenty of opportunity for escape, they should be able to work it out on their own. Good luck!

I added a new roost to the coop yesterday. I have some trees that I was checking out yesterday also that I’m going to cut some branches off of to make a roos/playground for the little ones.
