Yesterday I came across a deal I couldn't really pass up. 8 quail (mixed apparently 4 hens and 4 Roos which I know is a big no no) the cage, feeders, and feed for $20.
Most of them have balding spots which I know is due to too many Roos
ns, but my question is can you mix multiple species? I can't tell of they're full coturnix or mixed. And there are 4 a&m Texas quail. They've been in the same enclosure and I'm not sure if the pecking is due to just the male/female ration or the two species being together.
I'll post pictures tonight and try to sex them (at which I am no expert at). Previous owner had them on chicken started but I'll be stopping by the feed store to pick up some startena.
Appreciate any info given, thank you
