I think that I am happier than my birds that spring is here.
My question is this; if I put turkey eggs in the incubator now, is there any reason why I wouldn't want to put a few chicken eggs in in 7 days? I believe that the lockdown period should be about right. Am I missing something? Any advice would be appreciated.

When I incubate turkey eggs with chicken eggs, I add the chicken eggs 7 days after the turkey eggs. They all go to lockdown at the same time in the same conditions and hatch at the same time.

Thanks, I thought it should work but never saw anybody mention it so I wanted to make sure. I'm so excited to hatch some silkies with turkeys

I do not recommend brooding Silkies with turkeys. Due to the vaulted skulls on Silkies, one good peck on the top of the head can kill them.

If you separated the silkies from the turkeys after hatching (like different boxes), would that still be to risky?

As long as the turkeys cannot get to the silkies they should be fine. You always will want to keep the silkies separate from the turkeys even when adults.
