I have 8 Rhode Island Red hens & 2 roosters, 2 Barred rock and was thinking as calm as they say Buff Orpingtons are would they get picked on or bullied by the other breeds or do those 2 breeds mix well is the real question I'm asking. Thanks

I have all those breeds, they get along fine. How much room you have can greatly affect how chickens get along, crowding and confining chickens can lead to behavioural problems. If you are limited on space than breed selection can be more important. Let them free range with a large coop or shed and you can mix most breeds without any troubles.

In my experience RIR do not like other birds that are of other colours...Pecking and feather eating, not to mention they are a bit more aggressive with flock members...I sold all my RIRs..Best decision I ever made..Orpingtons and Barred Rock are docile and have a hard time living with aggressive birds...

Good luck

I had one RIR and one BO, and while the RIR was the top hen, they got along pretty well. The BO was #2 over the others, an Australorp and a Wyandotte.
