Anyone have experiencing mixing silkie colours? I have a white silkie rooster and the one hen is pictured below. Curious to know what colours I would end up with from them. Is the hen considered partridge? Thanks.

I think partridge is usually black and brown, with no white. So the hen would not be considered partridge.

Breeding a white Silkie rooster to that hen is likely to give some partridge chicks and/or some chicks colored like the mother.

But there are several sets of genes that can cause a "white" chicken, so that prediction is based on a guess of what is most likely for Silkies. If he has different genes for white, you might get chicks that are all white, or all black, or various other options.

Your lovely hen here looks like she has some dominant white and autosomal red going on. She is not partridge. Will be very interesting to see what the chicks look like. Please keep us posted! 😊
