I have 1 week old chicks and will be getting newborn chicks in 2 weeks, should I or can I put them in the same brooder?

I would brood the new ones separately for about a week, then try introducing. I have been hatching each friday, so I usually put the newest ones in their own brooder to get a good start, then move them over with the 1 week older group when the next will hatch...lots of peepers and brooders, but luckily not one per hatch! I bet they will be fine together after a week...

When our EE's were about a week old and the barred rocks were about three weeks we kept them in the same brooder seperated so they can see each other but not fight. Then on the third day I woke up and found one of the little ones in with the bigger ones all cuddled up together. So...I put them all together and gave the little ones a place to escape if they needed it. As it turns out that wasn't necessary cuz they all got along great and settled right in. A few pecks every now and then...but it was smooth as pie. Now they are all best of buddies.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try putting them in the same brooder but seperated by chicken wire for a week or so and then try to mix them...thank you all!!
