I have about 15 chickens/roosters that are about 2 to 3 months old and I just put 10 pullets 6 weeks old in with them on saturday they are still huddling in a group and will not go outside at all they stay in the coop all day

I went out last night and picked them all up and took them outside and sat in the run with them to keep the others off them for a little while so they could go outside.

I thought after a few days they would start to mix in. What should I do? Thanks for any advice.

I just mixed 9 2 month old RIR with 21 6 week old RIR. I put them in a totally new coop in the evening, shut the door and left them The next morning I let them out and everyone was getting along fine. They have been together for 3 days now and so far there has been no pecking from the older ones. I did put two feeders inside the coop to insure the smaller ones got their feed and water but other than that. No problems. I think they were all up tight about being in a new coop and forgot to pick on each other. They figured saftey in numbers.lol
