I think that Mo is a roo and Checkers is a little lady. Please confirm my suspicions!

Thanks!

those are some cool cochins!! but--- the roo has a crest and the hen has muffs

I do think the genders are correct though! could the roo be part silkie and the hen part-maybe EE... I dunno, they sure are good lookin!

Yep, Mo is male. The sickle feathers are longer and the tail feathers are more spiked than a hens.

I agree that Checkers is also female. Pretty birds.

If they were 1/2 ameraucana, that would account for the beard in the pullet, but not for the crest, or lack of beard in the cockerel...also, the combs would not be single combs, they would be pea combs, and the foot feathering would not be so heavy...

They both hatched from Dipsey's eggs. I can't remember if she has EEs or not! I do think she has silkies, though. Checkers definitely has muffs and Mo does have a little crest--a little MO-hawk. hee hee

I'm just glad I'm right on their sexes. Checkers is such a little sweetheart! And Mo has got quite the attitude for such a little fellow!
