Alright so my hold out chicken who only started laying about two weeks ago has now got my other two layers who've been laying since September, laying eggs in a little hole they dig in the coop. AHHHH!

I've tried to catch them doing it and then move them to the nest box during but it doesn't seem to be working. How can I break them of this NEW habit? Finally got them NOT sleeping in the nest boxes and now they won't use them at all. Good grief.

3 Plymoth Barred Rocks, two of them were consistently using the nest boxes so I know it's not location, but only since that other one started digging herself a little nook in the coop did the others follow suit.

try putting a metal bucket up-side down in the spot or something that is not stable and put a fake egg or golf ball in the nest box as an incentive to go back in the box, if your slow poke is the first layer for the day that's why the others are doing the same
