I have 9 hens and a rooster in a good sized permanent coop. Because we have hawks I have not been able to let them free range (several bad experiences) and my girls and boy have obviously denuded the enclosed coop area of all vegetation. I would like to be able to periodically get them in a mobile coop that I could move around the yard so they can bug hunt. Two questions: 1- Can you give me hints on transferring the chickens from the big coop to a mobile one? It seems to take me an absurdly long time to accomplish this. 2- Can you recommend building plans for a mobile coop that will handle 10 chickens?
Thanks

I don’t know the layout of your yard, but can you accomplish the same thing with movable fencing? Premier1 Supply has both electric and non-electric fencing that will be way cheaper than trying to build a tractor and drag it around.

We have a very tiny lot and use the No-Shock Chick Fence, which is working well. Aviary netting over the top should slow down aerial predators.
