Mocking Bird

This is a new one for me. A resident mocking bird imitates distressed chicks very well, constantly distracting me.

That's pretty funny. I guess they don't call them that for nothing! He better be careful, he might call in a hawk!

Years ago there was a resident starling in the apt complex I lived in. That bird had a cat meow that had the resident cats twisting from trying to see the cat invading its territory. It also had a crying baby call. The best one was a Flicker call that would make the flicker fly all over trying to find the invader. It was hilarious the see the starling laying low while the flicker was hunting its rival.

I'm kind of surprised our resident mockingbird hasn't picked up any of my chicken noises. I think he's too busy trying to attract a mate at the moment - but when I worry about my chickens being too loud, he's a lot louder and more persistent.
