Hello! I am new to chickens, and we are working on our chicken run. My husband is no carpenter, and he doesn't have much free time to build a run by scratch. We found a cheap exercise pen that we are modifying for our girls. We are combining two runs, securing all corners & edges further, bolting it to the coop, adding hardware cloth all over, including edging all the way around as a digging guard. We were also thinking about stone or edging pavers around the outside edges as an added measure. All latches will have clips/carabiners to lock them. I'm still worried this won't be secure enough for nighttime, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
