"Hmm." Shadow said, biting her tongue. She nudged her foals, and they followed her while she pushed past Dahlia to go to the water hole.

Layla splashed back happily.

Apollo laughed happily as he swam a little farther away from Layla.

Shadow and the foals arrived to the water hole. Dash, and Lily started swimming. Shadow watched them carefully.

Layla dove underwater, then jumped out splashing Apollo.

Apollo spat water out of his mouth. He splashed Layla again then walked out of the water hole to rest. He shoook his long, pure black mane, his black coat shining in the evening sun. He looked quite magnificent as he trotted over to Shadow with a proud gait.

Layla followed behind him. "Okay, time for a nap." Shadow said peacefully, her foals cuddling her. Layla snuggled Apollo, "Goodnight" She whispered, surprisingly adult sounding.

Apollo half-smiled. "'Night." He said. He looked at Layla happily as she slept.

Apollo lay there for a while, looking out at the meadow. He was quite surprised when Layla took such a liking to him.

Twilight pulled Stephani close and snuggled Blaze.
