Jet faced him, snarling "Coward, your afraid to loose your leadership aren't you? You send your horses into battle without even going along to back them up and a couple has already left to foal because of you. SkyHerd is falling apart and its YOUR fault" He pawed at the ground, facing Flip aggressivly
Flip sighed. "I cannot argue with you, Jet." He looked up into the huge young stallion's dark eyes. "There must be some soft part of you. There must be. But," he choked. "Nature takes it's toll. It's survival of the fittest, and it just so happens that I am more fit - but you are stronger." Flip's eyes were mournful. "When I took Silver as my mate and founded SkyHerd, I was a silly colt. I thought that all the mares, stallions, colts, elders, and even other herds would look up to me, obey me. I was wrong." He snarled savagely. "I wish Lily had been murdered. I wish it! Wishes are nothing. Nothing. If she'd been killed I could've avenged her. How do you avenge an illness?" Flip was hysterical now. "I loved Twilight. Loved her. Her coat. She's dead. Dead. Never coming back! Dead! Gone! She's gone! I only saw her a short time but I loved her. As I love all the mares of SkyHerd. It's my job to protect them and I failed - she died!" Flip looked at Jet again. Tears made his eyes glitter. "And now everyone knows. If I let a single mare be killed, I have let all of them die."
Flip wandered aimlessly off toward the woods, his head down and ears limp. His tail did not sway but lay still. He did not look back as he brushed into the forest, thorns pricking his golden hide.
He would not be seen for a long time.
Jet said nothing the whole time Flip spoke and he watched Flip walk away, not trying to stop him "Farewell Flip" He said softly, turning back to the herd
